A 17-year-old girl tells police that he pulled down her tank top, exposing her breasts. Police say he was 'extremely intoxicated' and had marijuana and Xanax in his pockets. A celebrity lifestyles article.
Police in Murrieta say comedian Andy Dick, who was arrested today on charges of sexual battery and suspicion of drug possession, had been warned earlier by officers to leave another local bar or face charges of public intoxication.

Lt. Dennis Vrooman said police were called to the Corner Pocket Sports Bar about 9 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found Dick extremely intoxicated, he said. Rather than arrest the 42-year-old actor for public intoxication, they gave him the option to leave, which he did, Vrooman said.

Police do not know if Dick was involved in the disturbance at the bar.

Dick later ended up at Buffalo Wild Wings on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, where he drank with four or five friends, Vrooman said. Several bar patrons recognized Dick and approached him, including a 17-year-old girl.

"She recognized that he was extremely intoxicated and walked away," Vrooman said.

Later, as Dick and his friends were leaving, Vrooman said, Dick spotted the girl and her friend and shouted, "There are the girls. Moments later, he allegedly fondled the girl's breast with his right hand and then pulled her top down in the parking lot. - See Comedian Andy Dick arrested on drug, sexual battery charges in Murrieta for the full report.

Rapper Remy Ma gets 8 years for shooting friend. A celebrity lifestyles article.
Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma was sentenced to eight years in prison on Tuesday for shooting and wounding an acquaintance after discovering money was missing from her purse after a night out in Manhattan.

In sentencing the rapper, criminal court judge Rena Uviller said Remy Ma, whose real name is Remy Smith, was "an extremely angry young woman whose anger is completely out of control."

In March, a New York jury found Smith, nominated for a 2004 Grammy for her part in Terror Squad's song "Lean Back," guilty of assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion.

Smith's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, called the shooting in the early hours of July 14, 2007, accidental and suggested the victim, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, was exaggerating the facts to win a large sum in a separate civil suit. - See Rapper Remy Ma gets 8 years for shooting friend

Wesley Snipes jailed for 3 years. A celebrity lifestyles article.
A "very sorry" Wesley Snipes, star of the "Blade" movies, was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday for willfully failing to file U.S. income tax returns for 1999 through 2001.

Snipes was convicted in February on three misdemeanor counts. U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges handed down the maximum sentence and said he felt it was important to create a general deterrent against tax defiance.

"I am very sorry for my mistakes and errors," Snipes told the judge. "This will never happen again."

He read a prepared statement, describing himself as an "idealist, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritual-seeking artist" who epitomized the expression "mo' money, mo' problems."

His lawyers tried to give the court three envelopes with checks totaling $5 million, but the judge and prosecutor said they could not accept the payments. An Internal Revenue Service agent collected the money during a recess.

The judge said prison officials would notify Snipes when to begin serving his sentence. Snipes said he would appeal the verdict but prosecutors vowed to oppose any request to allow him to remain free on bond while the appeal is pending. - See Wesley Snipes jailed for 3 years for the full report.

Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora Plea-Bargains DUI; Gets Probation, Fine. A celebrity lifestyles article.
Just hours after Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was officially charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI, he plea-bargained the case, according to TMZ.

Sambora pleaded no contest to a charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, the site reported (Sambora's blood-alcohol level at the time of his arrest was reportedly .13). Another charge of driving under the influence was dropped.

Sambora, 48, will pay around $1,600, including a $390 fine and penalties, according to the site. He will be placed on three years' "informal probation" and will be required to attend an alcohol education course. He cannot drink or abuse drugs during his probation.

Sambora avoided a charge of child endangerment, stemming from his March 25 arrest in Laguna Beach, California. At the time he was pulled over, Sambora's girlfriend and two young girls — one of them Ava, his 10-year-old daughter with Heather Locklear — were in the car.

Sambora's problems with alcohol led him to enter a 30-day rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles last spring. - See

Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur

Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur. A celebrity lifestyles article.
French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of "inciting racial hatred" over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.

Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros ($23,760) for saying the Muslim community was "destroying our country and imposing its acts".

Since retiring from the film industry in the 1970s, Bardot has become a prominent animal rights activist but she has also courted controversy by denouncing Muslim traditions and immigration from predominantly Muslim countries.

She has been fined four times for inciting racial hatred since 1997, at first 1,500 euros and most recently 5,000.

Prosecutor Anne de Fontette told the court she was seeking a tougher sentence than usual, adding: "I am a little tired of prosecuting Mrs Bardot."

Bardot did not attend the trial because she said she was physically unable to. The verdict is expected in several weeks. - See Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur for the complete article.
